Where can I find a wedding dress like Coleen’s!

OK! Magazine have billed it as “The Wedding of the Decade” : Wayne Rooney married Coleen McLoughlin on Thursday 12th June in Santa Margherita, Italy.
Featured exclusively in OK! Magazine if you’ve not got your copy you need to rush out and get one as soon as possible.
So what was it like... well the couple actually both wore two outfits on their day (Coleen’s third dress was worn at the reception only).  For the civil ceremony Coleen wore a cream strapless Marchesa dress featuring an embroidered bodice with tea length organza skirt.  The dress was teamed with white Christian Louboutin shoes.  Wayne wore an open neck shirt and beige two piece suit.  But it was the evening religious ceremony that will be remembered as Wayne and Coleen’s wedding.

For this Coleen looked truly stunning in a one of a kind Marchesa dress (reported in some newspapers as costing £100,000!!).  In “almost white” ivory silk and organza the gown consisted of a simple strapless ribbon edged bodice contrasting with a full skirt of layered pleated silk organza fans.  Dramatic enough to create a strong impression but not taken to any extreme and perfectly complimented with natural make-up, hair scraped back and put up in a simple and classic style.  Unusually Coleen did not wear a tiara or hair jewellery but opted for a timeless wide ribbon edge (matching the bodice of her dress) white elbow length single tier veil.  Apart from her stunning marquis-cut engagement ring the only other jewellery that Coleen wore were a pair of diamond stud earrings.  The bride’s bouquet comprised of pure white tulips.

Wayne and the male a members of the wedding party wore grey single breasted suits (Wayne adding a matching waistcoat a look he seems to be favouring recently) with crisp white shirts and white ties.

Bridesmaids wore short (knee length) ivory strapless Marchesa dresses with silver and gold flower detail to the wide waist band and organza fans to the bust to echo the theme of the bride’s gown.

In our opinion Coleen’s dress was stunning. A classic, and in many ways a simple, dress with that little “twist”.  But more than this it was the overall look that marked this celebrity wedding out.  The understated make up and simplicity of accessories and flowers and limited colour pallet meant that in this instance “less was most definitely more”.

So, what if you want a similar look for your wedding but don’t have the funds for a one of a kind Marchesa dress?  Fear not because at Bride@Chestergate we have the dress and accessories to recreate Coleen’s elegant but glamorous look.
The Dress

Anne-Lise Jensen of Lucca Scandinavian Design is rapidly building a reputation for fabric detailing and contemporary design with a twist.  Line-E from the 2008 range picks up on the styling queues of Coleen’s dress.  The fitted bodice style satin top with organza layer features a delicate and subtle leaf motif gives way to the heavily layered organza skirt.  And at £1250 you’re off to a good start with a massive saving on Coleen’s dress.
