What sort of price range are your dresses?
Our dresses range from £1000 to £3500.
How much will I need to budget for modifications to my dress?
At Bride@Chestergate we want to make our pricing as simple as possible. Not only does this help you to budget for your big day but it also prevents you falling in love with a dress that you think you can afford only to later find out that the modification costs push it beyond your reach. So, when you visit our shop, the price that you're quoted for a specific gown is the price you pay for that dress tailored to fit you. To put it simply : If we tell you that a dress is £1500 when you come back into the shop to order the dress we're not going to start adding on £100 for this modification and £75 for that modification.
A word of warning! When you order a dress our suppliers will make the dress to fit you using the measurements we take. If, between ordering and delivery your size changes the dress is unlikely to fit perfectly and it may be difficult or even impossible to rectify. For this reason we strongly advise that you do not attempt to diet or otherwise change your sizing between ordering your dress and your wedding day. If your size has changed we will try our best to get the best fit possible, including getting our seamstresses to work on the dress. Modifications of this type are excluded from out "clear pricing policy" and will need to be paid for by you when you collect the dress.
How far in advance should I start looking for my dress?
We get brides in looking at dresses 2 years before their wedding date but most seem to start their hunt about 9 months before the big day. For many brides getting the venue and finding their dress are steps that must be completed before they can start to think about the million and one other things you need to arrange for a wedding and so like to start early. We would ideally like to see brides-to-be about 9 months before their wedding day and take the order no later than 4 months before. It can take as long as 12 weeks to get your dress into the shop from ordering and we like to give ourselves at least 4 weeks before the wedding day to ensure that you are 100% happy before you take it away.
How quickly can you get a dress in?
12 weeks is our standard delivery time and we like a 4 week "buffer zone" that we can use to sort our anything that the bride-to-be is not happy with in good time. However, we can get dresses delivered in 4 weeks although there are often extra costs associated with this. Generally anything below 12 weeks means that your options start to reduce but the message from us is "if time is limited come and see us as soon as possible"... we will move heaven and earth to try to get you the dress you want in your timeframe.
What have you got for second time brides?
Jayne has significant experience in high street design and using this experience has worked really hard to build a range that works across a wide range of ages, shapes, sizes. We think that there is a dress out there for every bride and it's our job to help you find it whether your aiming for a big production wedding or something informal and low key.
I don't want a traditional white wedding dress. Do you have anything in other colours?
Most popular colour in wedding gowns seems to be Ivory with white and then gold shades coming in at second and third. Our Catherine Jane range of dresses however can be supplied in a massive range of colours from the traditional whites and creams, through pastel shades of baby pink and blues to rich reds, blues, greens, browns and even black. Something also worth considering is how you will use flowers and Jewellery. Adding contemporary accessories to your dress can change to whole look. We stock a range of Elen Henderson Jewellery some of which can be personalised to your specifications.
I'd like to buy the sample dress in the shop. Is that possible?
Sorry, no. Our sample gowns are just that... samples.
What sizes do you do?
Our Catherine Jane range runs from sizes 8 to 20. Lucca and Charlotte Balbier dresses are available from size 8 to 22. All our suppliers can provide dresses in sizes larger than those stated above but additional charges may apply. We can give you exact prices when you visit the shop and as with all our dresses the price we quote you will be the price you pay for that dress made to fit you. If you book a consultation with us and you're outside the ranges above let us know and we'll make sure that we have suitable samples for your fitting.
